A syndicated adventure serial on disc, complete from its first season
Chandu the Magician went out from KHJ Los Angeles in 1932 and was distributed to stations on electrical transcription discs rather than by network line. That is why so much of it survives: transcription discs were pressed in quantity, shipped, and kept, while network broadcasts vanished into the air. The run collected here is one of the largest continuous bodies of early-1930s American serial audio in existence, and it is worth hearing simply for the pace — daily quarter-hours, sponsored by Beech-Nut, written to bring the audience back tomorrow.

Chandu the Magician was produced in Los Angeles from 1932 and syndicated on transcription discs, which is why so much of the early run survives when almost nothing else of the period does. Transferred from Internet Archive items 'ChanduTheMagician' and 'ChanduTheMagician_201706'.
